My baby boy…

Posted: January 18, 2016 in Uncategorized

One of the hardest things I’ve had to do recently was to give up my baby boy.  He was just a dog to everyone else, a major pain in the ass dog that is, but to me, he was my heart.

I frankly didn’t even want him…a friend of mine came to work all sweet like and casually asked if I wanted a dog… My quick response was NO! She persisted though and before I knew what I was doing I was on my way to her house to pick up this tiny little puppy that I had already named Rigby.

Rigby was babied from the beginning. He was sick a couple weeks after I got him and after taking him to the vet, I cradled him in my arms, letting him lick water out of the palm of my hand in an attempt to keep him hydrated.  I cooked chicken and rice for him that weekend and slowly got him back to eating and drinking normally without making him sick.

He licked my toes each time after my shower and snuggled at my feet under the cover each night. He was afraid of loud noises and each time my dumbass neighbors would shoot off fireworks, his eyes would be wild and he would cower and shake long after the last one.  He even went in the bathroom and shut the door by head butting it, to try and block out the noise.

I couldn’t go two steps in the house without him being right beside me.  I often didn’t clean the house because I couldn’t get him to leave me alone long enough to get anything done.  Every time the door opened he thought he had to go outside. If only to see why I was going to my car.  He always went in search of something dead and decaying so he could roll around on it and bring the smell back inside with him.

I loved my baby boy and can’t believe its been almost a week since I had to say goodbye.  As much as I dread it, I’m looking forward to the vet calling me this week to pick up his remains just so he will be back with me.

Local AA meetings???

Posted: March 13, 2014 in Uncategorized

I’m not sure if we have a local chapter or whatever it’s called but I really feel like we need to start one. Before anyone jumps to the wrong conclusion let me clarify something… I am not talking about AA meetings as it pertains to drinking…rather AA meetings as it pertains to “assholes anonymous”…

A Year in Review…

  1. New Job = new co-workers, new friends, new beginnings
  2. Old Job = lost connections, fair weather friends, true friends
  3. New living arrangements = farm in the country with lots of room for the dog to run and play and a big ol’ drafty house for the dog and I to ramble around in
  4. Vacations = new friends, loss of sleep (not in a good way), friendships tested
  5. Hair Color Changes = new stylist (I adore), colors ranging from teal, blue, purple, fuschia, cheerwine red, to black
  6. New puppies = idiots dropping half starved puppies off (almost) at your doorstep
  7. Being sick = asthmatic bronchitis, RSV, strep throat (strain G) and a cracked rib all at the same flipping time… and oh yeah, stepping on a rusty nail and having to pull it out yourself while trying to deal with the cracked rib
  8. Thai food
  9. Estate sales
  10. Ticks
  11. Happy Birthday to Me… (inside joke)
  12. Dating (stinks)

Tattoo Idea’s…

Most of these are arm tattoos however I need something to cover up a rather bad attempt at a dragonfly that I had done several years ago. The existing tattoo is on my leg so any of these “ideas” will be modified slightly (if necessary) to fit the form of my leg.

Ignore James/Kyle on this as well… just something I pulled off the internet… 🙂

Any thoughts, suggestions, comments?

While sitting in the waiting room at Dr. M’s office I heard something I hadn’t heard in a long time… the nursing staff came out and called for Mrs. McCoy…

I haven’t been Mrs. anything in several years, actually 15 years this month to be exact. Now granted I am sitting here waiting to have my hearing tested and they weren’t speaking to me but it still jolted me a bit…

Whatever “Clock”

cork board 14X14
transparency paper – rub on words/letters and numbers work just as well
access to printer
black permanent marker
clock parts
clock hands (optional)
power drill

1. The instructions I found indicated that you should print the numbers and words on transfer paper however if you scrapbook at all, you probably have some rub on or pre-made transfers that you haven’t used…  The point is to have all the numbers (for a normal clock) and then the words “whatever, I’m late anyways” or what I will probably end up using is “whatever, I’m always late”.

2. Next cut each number and word out.

3.  Remove glossy film and place sticky side over the paper.  Be careful not to rub it in or you will smudge your ink. Repeat this step for all your numbers and word phrase.

4.Take your film and stamp it onto your cork board.  Gently remove the film or you will take off some cork excess. Repeat this step for all your numbers and word phrase.

5. Trace numbers with a black sharp point tip permanent marker.  Repeat this step for all  your numbers and word phrase.

6. After you have traced your numbers you can now add the phrase “whatever I’m late anyways”.

7. Now it’s about that time to add your clock.

8. Turn over corkboard, measure, mark the center and drill.

9. Now your ready to put your clock parts starting thru the back. Follow the directions that came with the package.

10. Last step, your clock is now ready for batteries. You’re now finished…
