To color or not to color….

To color or not to color…

That is the question… seriously I currently have teal hair, teal glasses and personally think I rock it most days. However I work in a corporate environment where “different” is frowned upon or perhaps not rewarded is the better way to look at it.

Personally, I feel that an employee should be rewarded for their performance not their choice of hair color…

Dating…

Dating these days is a challenge to say the least.  It is extremely difficult to meet someone at work – most companies frown on colleagues dating – plus who has the time to socialize with the ever increasing workload most people have.

A lot of single people are not entirely truthful about themselves… it is, I guess, more interesting to be someone you’re not than someone you have to be on a daily basis. I get that, I really do. If I were to be someone I’m not, if only for a day… I believe I would be this ubber skinny, extremely wealthy, intelligent diva that doesn’t have to work…spending all my time getting my nails and toes done, my hair trimmed, shopping, hanging out all day with my clique, who like me are utterly fabulous…

Then reality sets in… even though it might be nice to fantasize about being someone I’m not… keeping up with the lies and trying to remember what you’ve said to whom…would be thoroughly exhausting. For all those people who are totally more interesting online than they are in person… be yourself. Be true to who you are. The people who truly matter will love the person you are, not the person you want to be…

Weird is a gift from above…

I recently met this incredible, outspoken, charming young lady. While attending a dance competition that my niece K was preforming at, her BFF B made the comment that she was weird.

I was like hello, who are you talking to… I have teal hair and teal glasses. Who is the weird one? B was like you’re weird too but its okay, weird is a gift from above.

I will wait…

Dirty Bugs…

This is what I have woken up to the last two mornings… Tuesday @ 4:30 and today (Wednesday) @ 3:30.

Initially I thought it was either the dog brushing up against me as he slept… then the thought crossed my mind that it might be the strings on my quilt…

Unfortunately it was neither…

Kick Start…

I have been super crazy with work as of late and within three days have already “clocked” almost 40 hours. Considering the fact that I’m supposed to work today and Friday (at best an additional 16 hours) I’m exhausted. I have been getting to the office no later than 7:30 this week and leaving for home no earlier than 7… add an additional hour each day for commute time and I have approximately worked 42 hours thus far.

I consumed way more Kick Starts and Amps than I should have… at least I made it through the week though.

McDonalds…

Craving McDonalds at 10 p.m. takes a whole new meaning when you live approximately 12 miles from the closest one.

In the past I would readily drive the couple of miles to get a Big Mac regardless of the time. However since I have moved further from town I have been more cognizant of the drive time involved. I also wasn’t sure what hours McDonalds is currently open… very pleasantly surprised to find they are open 24-7…
